Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC Ltd) Volley Team on 28thNovember 2022 beat Rwandair three sets to one to clinch 2022 men’s trophy in inter-government and private institutions Sports Competition.
The tournament that closed officially on 05th, November 2022 was organized by Rwandan Association for the Promotion of Sports among the Workforce (ARPST). WASAC Volleyball Team (Men) won the trophy while WASAC Basketball Team (men) ranked second after losing to Rwandair (47-70) .
WASAC Head Coach, Masumbuko Jean de Dieu appreciated the efforts of his team and disclose the plan to defend the trophy. “We had serious preparations for this tournament in order to make a difference and win a trophy. The next step is to continue strengthening our team by adding new experienced players “, Masumbuko said
WASAC Volley Team Captain, Mr Rukundo Gustave said that, having experienced players, better preparations and team spirit helped the team win the trophy. Madame, Gisele Umuhumuza, the Ag. Chief Executive Officer of WASAC congratulated both teams for well representing WASAC and promised more support.
The winners of this year tournament in Football and Volley ball categories will participate in African Workers and Amateurs Sports championship due to take place in Gambia, Banjul capital in March 2023.
