Water and Sanitation Corporation Limited (WASAC Ltd) in collaboration with Banque Populaire Du Rwanda (BPR) launched an online revenue collection option on November 11th 2016 at the WASAC HQ, Gasabo District, Kigali.
Banque Populaire Du Rwanda joins Bank of Kigali, CogeBanque, GT Bank and I&M Bank, in providing their customers with an easy mode of payment, regarding their water bill. BPR and WASAC Ltd have been working on this project for the past 6 months and they are pleased with their achievement. Director of Commercial Service at WASAC states that as Rwanda works towards a cashless economy, it is crucial that we follow suit, adding to the technological advancement within the country.
The online revenue collection option is easy and quick; customers fill out the payment slip at the bank with their POC number and amount to be paid to the BPR account description ‘WASAC REVENUE ACCOUNT’. Once the transaction is done, the payment reflects on WASAC customer management system (CMS). The system is advantageous to customers compared to the old system, which includes avoiding long queues in WASAC Cash Desks, customer save the time of bringing bank slip in WASAC for payment confirmation and long payment processes. The system is also reliable; customers receive an immediate notification of payment after online payment.
