With the opening up of a new water treatment plant in Bugesera which will provide 40,000 cubic meters of water on a daily basis where 30 cubic meters will be supplying Kigali city to help in resolving water-supply challenges in areas of Kicukiro, Remera, Kimironko, Kabeza, Kanombe, Busanza, and Nyarugunga.
Several water reservoirs have been constructed in different parts of Kigali and Bugesera district and out of the 41 water reservoirs that will be built were 7 of them are located in areas of Remera, Kabeza Busanza, Nyarugunga, Gahanga,Bidudu and Nyamata and fully operational where they store 30500 cubic meters on a daily basis.
This has come as a great relief and will help on resolving the problem of water shortages in some areas of Kigali and Bugesera which has been occurring in the past.
