Residents of Musanze benefit from the Rehabilitation, Upgrading and Extension of Water Supply Networks in Musanze City and it's Peri-Urban Areas

WASAC in partnership with the African development bank(Afdb) has been able to extend and rehabilitate Musanze City Water Network where 136.05 km pipeline was constructed, 26 water reservoirs with a capacity of 6380m.This project also saw the construction of 101 water kiosks which have greatly helped to improve standards of living for people occupying that area as they sell water, and are able to sell other products for profit.

Other areas that have gained from this project include Gakenke, Burera and Nyabihu where the project is estimated to benefit close to 140 000. Apart from helping the people get access to clean water, district officials are also happy that some of the new laid out pipeline will help connecting the projected industrial park boosting its infrastructural development and this will greatly attract more investors to the area.
